The Hammonds Band are delighted to announce the signing of Claire Chalk on Solo Cornet.

Claire has had a few years away from banding but really enjoyed her debut contest performance with the band at the British Open, followed by a successful performance at the National Finals.

The new logo is a celebration of the band’s heritage. Hammonds has an impressive pedigree, with an unbroken sequence of 73 years under various names, and roots going back over 150 years.

Hammonds Band are delighted to further build on recent signings with the addition of Alan Morrison on Soprano Cornet.

Mike Kilroy brings a wealth experience to the solo euphonium chair, having played with a number of the top-flight bands in England and has been with the band since the end of lock down.

The organisers of the 44th Brass in Concert Championship, to be held in association with Yamaha, Banks Group and World of Brass at Sage Gateshead on Saturday 20 November, have announced that the draw will be made at Ringway Primary School in Sheepwash, Northumberland, on Monday 21 June.

The Hammonds Band is delighted to announce Steven Walsh has become our new principal euphonium. Steven is no stranger the band, having played alongside MD Morgan Griffiths when the band was known as Yorkshire Building Society Band.

The Hammonds Band is delighted to announce two new signings, on principal trombone Dr Tim Mossad and on tenor horn Joe Derrick.

The band are sad to announce that Lisa Dunkley has left the band due to increased family and work commitments. Lisa has played for Hammonds on tenor horn for over six years enjoying notable success.

The Hammonds Band are pleased to announce that Toby Brazier has joined the solo cornet bench and Helene Missioux takes over the 2nd euphonium chair.

The Hammonds Band are pleased to announce that Neil Booth has joined on assistant principal cornet. Neil was previously principal cornet at Boarshurst Silver Band during a successful period included winning the 2nd section National Finals in 2017.

The Hammonds Band won their second shield of the contesting season by retaining their title at the Hebden Bridge Hymn and March Contest.

Following on from being crowned Grand Shield winners 2018, Hammonds now have a new soprano player. Rob Jaggar has moved from assistant principal to soprano cornet. Rob made an impressive debut on soprano at Batley Town Hall on Saturday 9th June.

Hammonds Band solo horn Zoe Wright is making a name for herself having been awarded 
the solo horn seat for the European Youth Brass Band at their current course in Utrecht, 
Holland. Zoe was previously also selected to be solo horn for the National Youth Brass Band 
of Great Britain earlier this year. 

The Hammonds Band are pleased to announce the signing of two players to complete the team ready for the Yorkshire Regional Champions on home turf of Huddersfield next month.
