New Euphonium lead at Hammonds

The Hammonds Band are delighted to announce the signing of Daniel Hohm on Principal Euphonium, with his first engagement commencing in the New Year.

Daniel is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) tutored by Steven Mead and Dr David Thornton where he is the College’s first German Euphonium Student.

Daniel’s studies are supported in the UK by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and the Hans und Stefan Bernbeck-Stiftung.

The band would like to thank Mike Kilroy who is stepping down from the band after 2 and half years of fantastic service.

The band’s Musical Director Morgan Griffiths commented, “I’m thrilled to be welcoming Daniel to the band, I’ve been greatly impressed with his playing and I’m looking forward to us working together in the next exciting chapter.

I would also like to personally thank my good friend Mike Kilroy who is an inspiration to us all with his amazing playing standard and constant drive, with his enthusiasm which is highly infections, he will be greatly missed.

Daniel’s first contest will be the Yorkshire Regional Championships in March.
