The Hammonds Band is pleased to release our new logo

The new logo is a celebration of the band’s heritage. Hammonds has an impressive pedigree, with an unbroken sequence of 73 years under various names, and roots going back over 150 years. In 1855 Sir Titus Salt formed the Saltaire band as one of the amenities for the workers at his recently opened mill. Later the band had a long association with Hammonds Sauce Works under the baton of the legendary Geoffrey Whitham.

In the release of the band’s new logo the Hammonds Band, previously YBS and Yorkshire Building Society Band, also celebrate being one of the most successful of all contesting brass bands in the last twenty years. Yorkshire Building Society Band grew out of the former Hammonds Sauce Works Band when, in 1993, the band’s 47 year sponsorship ended.

It is from these two parts of our past, as the Hammonds Sauce Works Band and the Yorkshire Building Society Band, that we now celebrate in our new logo.
