Hammonds and Sellers Bands Move Forward Together

Sellers International Youth Brass Band will join forces with Hammonds Saltaire Band and will be known as Hammonds Youth Band from 1st March 2013.
The Youth Band and Hammonds Saltaire Band have had a close association for the last four years, sharing the same Bandroom in Huddersfield and performing a number of joint concerts. The bands have now decided to take their relationship even closer by sharing the same name.

John Myles, Chairman of Hammonds said "Strengthening our relationship and sharing our name with the youth band is a great step forward for both bands. The Youth Band has some real talent and we are looking forward to working more closely with them".

David Armitage, Chairman of Sellers International who has sponsored the youth band for over 14 years said "I am delighted with this development and am certain that the young people in the youth band can only benefit from a closer liaison with Hammonds Saltaire Band which I see as a natural progression. Having a relationship with such a successful championship band and with guidance from their talented Musical Director, Morgan Griffiths, is a wonderful opportunity for all of the players and I look forward to taking a keen interest in their development".
